Training: SCUBA Diving

The club organises training all year round.

New trainees usually start in September/October with pool sessions on a Friday night in Glenrothes and backed up by theory sessions on a Tuesday night at the weekly club meeting. With the better weather, open water sessions are then arranged to complete the course.

Trainees have to pass a short multiple choice test on the theory aspect of the course and satisfy the instructor with sound demonstrations of skills learned in both the pool and open water.

'Try-Dives': These are arranged to give people an experience of what it's like to use the equipment underwater and sample what diving is all about, in a carefully controlled environment.

Try-Dives are organised for a Friday night at the Glenrothes pool (FIPRE) between 9-10pm by prior arrangement. If you want to 'take the plunge' contact Bill Black on the Contact page.
